QUALITY CONCEPTS FOR THE IMPROVED USE OF RECYCLED POLYMERIC MATERIALS: A REVIEW |
|
|
Recent developments in the mechanical recycling of waste plastics from various applications and sources, such as packaging, agriculture, municipal solid waste, construction and demolition, end-of-life vehicles, and electrical and electronic equipment, are reviewed. Degradation processes taking place during the life cycle and reprocessing of waste plastics are discussed, and methods of upgrading the quality of recycled plastics, such as restabilisation, rebuilding, compatibilisation, and the addition of elastomers and fillers, are considered. 148 refs.
